New women-owned organization dedicated to patient centricity launches in Canada

TORONTO, March 8, 2024 // Today, Unum Co. [pronounced yoo-num], a women-owned company dedicated to reimagining health care through patient-centric innovation, launches in Canada.


Unum Co. was founded on the principle of leading with patients; through this approach, the company challenges health care organizations to be more patient centricin their planning, performance and engagement. Many health care organizations, pharmaceutical, biotech and health tech companies believe in the value and concept of patient centricity, but often struggle with how to integrate its principles intentionally and systematically. 


“At Unum, we believe deeply in the value and impact of patient experiences on health care systems,” said Farah Meghji, Co-Founder of Unum Co. “We are creating spaces for communities of patients to engage with each other and engage with industry companies who want to solve problems and create solutions. At Unum, we are flipping the traditional patient engagement model by creating opportunities for patients to lead, participate and contribute to programs and solutions that impact them.”   


When patients are meaningfully engaged and consulted, health care outcomes improve for everyone involved. To further this notion, Unum is inviting patients who are passionate about reshaping health care solutions to sign up on their website. By joining Unum's Patient Collective, these individuals will play a pivotal role in driving positive change and ensuring that health care solutions are truly patient-centric.

"We recognize that system change begins with the people within the system and those experiencing it. By bringing together patients, caregivers, industry and healthcare providers, we can create the experiences we all desire."
